Wheat Fungicide Timing The flag leaf on your wheat crop have started to emerge. That is the best time to spray a fungicide. With the recent rains and cooler than normal temperatures, we can expect more disease pressure this year, esp. powdery mildew. There are also reports of the more agressive stripe rust in Southeast Kansas. If you would like us to scout your wheat or even take a tissue sample to see what nutrients you may be short on, give your local NCCA Agronomist a call today.
Grain trading hours have changed. Night trading hours are between 7 pm - 7:45 am. Day trade will be between 8:30 am.- 1:15 pm. Please make sure to use these times when pricing grain.
July corn futures closed 11 cents higher on slow farmer selling and 4 lower on new crop Dec futures as farmers get busy planting corn acres. Informa's corn acreage estimate of 96.287 million acres compares to USDA's 97.3 nearly 1 million less. Informa estimated soybean acreage at 78.286 vs USDA at 77.1 million acres, up 1.2 million acres. Soybean basis values collapsing as we predicted with AGP off 15 cents today. Country elevtaors vulnerable on their comapny ownership and must be careful when buying soybeans in this declining basis environment. Storms expected on Sunday, some could be severe so be aware.
