Our Annual Meeting was held on Thursday May 23 here in Seneca. Members should have received notification along with a copy of the financial report and chairman's letter. We had another successful year financially despite the drought we experienced. Profits after taxes were $4,837,124 with allocation to our members of $3,087,538. Patronage rates were 22.6 cents per cwt on grain, 13.5 cents a gallon on fuels, 5.81% on fertilizer and 5.38% on farm supplies, chemicals, seed feed, tires and oil. As a not for profit organization and being member owned we are pleased to be able to return value like this back to our member owners. Corn traded both sides of the market on Friday with old crop down 5 cents and new crop up 2 cents. Corn basis weaker at the terminals about 5 cents. Soybean basis values declining 20 cents or more today. Some processors already switching from the July to November futures and lowering values considerably. A 3 day weekend so markets will take a vacation. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.
